## The Biggest Mistake: Using 4-Star Characters When new players see top-tier whales running full teams of EX and Bounty Fest characters in their support, they try to copy it. **Do not do this.** A 4-star character requires an insane amount of resources. To max out the skills of a single 4-star character, it costs 20 Black Skill Orbs. To max the skills of a 2-star character, it only costs **2 Orbs**. With the time and resources it takes to hyperboost and max out a single 4-star unit, you could have maxed out ten 2-star units. Go to the Battle Point Exchange shop every single day and buy 2-star and 3-star character fragments. Getting them to level 100, unlocking their third medal slot, and getting them to Boost 2 is the secret to skyrocketing your support percentage. ## The Monocolor Rule Color synergy is a massive factor in support. You should be running two main characters of the **exact same color** (e.g., a pure Blue team). When you put a Blue character in the support slot for a Blue main unit, they grant roughly a **2.1% higher support bonus** than a Red or Green character would. Across 10 support slots, matching colors gives you a free 21% total support increase. ## Medals on Support Characters Every character in your support team needs medals equipped, and they all need to be **9-Star Medals**. * **Traits Do Not Matter:** The game does not care if your support medal has a useless trait like "Crit Increase." Support percentage is solely calculated by the star rating of the medal. A 9-star medal with terrible traits gives the exact same support boost as a 9-star medal with god-tier 18% HP traits. * **Use Event Medals:** Event medals generally have much higher drop rates for 3-star traits. Farm these to craft cheap 9-star medals exclusively to slap on your support bench. ## High Percentage vs. Perfect Tags Eventually, you want to build a "Six Tag Support" (e.g., Worst Generation, Paramecia, Attacker, New World, Straw Hat, Captain). However, tags are a late-game luxury. Early on, **raw percentage is always better than perfect tags.** A 150% support team with random tags will make your character much tankier and hit much harder than a 125% support team with a perfect Worst Gen tag setup. Rely on the "Auto Select" button to build your highest raw percentage team while you learn the ropes, and slowly swap in units for tags (like Attacker or Runner) as your account matures.
